YOUNG AT HEART STORIES
Let there be wonder...
Timeless stories for the young...and young at heart.
A hello from Shain!
From the time I can remember until age 12 my dad read books to me at bedtime. It forged a wonderful bond between us to explore so many different worlds and stories together, and truly deepened my character and understanding of other's perspectives. It made me more thoughtful and imaginative, and I've always been grateful for this time we shared. Then when I was twelve I announced I was "old enough to read by myself", and that was a whole other journey.
I learned not to pigeon-hole what children can understand at any given age. How vividly I remember thrilling to White Fang at age five, and at 64 I adore Peter Rabbit. However when possible I've added the Reading Library grade approximate level ratings next to story titles for parents' reference.
It's my privilege to share some of those stories with you now, whether you listen to them when I tell them, or later at bed-time. May your imagination soar!
